Bulles Expo Paris to make sparkling debut
A show dedicated entirely to sparkling wine is set to make its debut in Paris next month, with 130 exhibitors set to take part.
The Bulles Expo will make its debut on June 20
Described as the “groundbreaking event the industry has been waiting for”, the Bulles Expo aims to boost the international sparkling wine market and make Paris a platform for the trade to showcase French, international and semi-sparkling wines.
Set to take place from June 20-21, 130 producers from France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Russia and Slovenia have already signed up to take part, with some 5,000 members of the trade expected to attend.
Exhibitors include The Champagne growers’ organisation SGV and companies including Alfred Gratien, Emile Leclere, Bauser, André Roger and Pinot Chevauchet. The eight French Crémant appellations will also be represented by the National French Crémant Federation alongside Boisset, Veuve Ambal and Vitteaut Albert for Crémant de Bourgogne; Caves de Grenelle, Alliance Loire and Gratien Meyer (Henkell & Co) for the Loire; Benoît & Valérie Calvet for Bordeaux; and Domaine Paul Mas for Limoux.
Producers from both Italy and Spain – the second and fifth largest producers of fizz respectively – will also be strongly represented.
Announcing the fair its organisers recognised the growing trend for sparkling wines among consumers at all levels, which it was keen to develop while turning Paris into a hub for the sparkling wine industry.
“For the last ten years, consumption of sparkling wines has grown three times faster than that of still wines”, they said. “Buyers and key influencers, who will be attending Bulles Expo, are only too aware of the trend.
“Communication has engaged with all distribution channels and they will be represented at the show: wine merchants and retailers, restaurateurs and sommeliers, sales representatives, events organisers, supermarket buyers and new distribution channels such as the internet and direct to consumer sales networks”.
Masterclasses, conferences on the sparkling wine economy and exclusive presentations of several studies will also be on offer to help visitors learn more about the industry.
