Berry Bros brings distribution in-house
Berry Bros & Rudd, one of Britain’s most famous drinks merchants, is bringing distribution of its spirits in-house as part of its “long-term plan” to build its supply capabilities in the on- and off-trade.

The decision will conclude arrangements that have been in place with distributors Maxxium UK since 2006 and with Mangrove since 2014.
The Berry Bros. & Rudd spirits portfolio, which includes single malt The Glenrothes and No.3 London Dry Gin, enjoyed significant growth during the decade-long relationship with Maxxium UK, the company said.
Meanwhile, the London-based wine and spirits merchant said Mangrove has been “instrumental” in introducing The King’s Ginger liqueur and Pink Pigeon spiced rum to new audiences in the on-trade.
By bringing the distribution of its portfolio in-house, Berry Bros & Rudd, which counts the royal estate among its clients, said it will look to “develop its own range of spirits both nationally and within London through existing trade relationships and new customers.”
Dan Jago, CEO of Berry Bros & Rudd, said: “The relationships with both Maximum and Mangrove have been excellent, providing a strong platform for our spirits brands, and for this we are very grateful.
“The time is now right, however, for us to build our own on- and off-trade UK distribution capabilities in spirits as well as wine as part of our long term-plans.”
The managing directors of both Maxxium UK and Mangrove wished Berry Bros success.
