NZ Sauvignon tasting aims to prove diversity
Producers of New Zealand’s most popular wine variety, Sauvignon Blanc, are aiming to show off the diversity of their produce at a London tasting in May.
The New Zealand Sauvignon: Re-discovery and New Directions tasting will take attendees through Sauvignon wines from different regions and sub-regions in an attempt to show the range of differences possible in the eponymous variety.
Similarly, discussions about the impact of vineyard management and cellar techniques will also be brought to the fore.
The free event on 9 May will be hosted by wine writer Jamie Goode and Melanie Brown of the New Zealand Cellar.
Run in partnership with the drinks business, the tasting will help wine experts “re-discover New Zealand’s most successful export, experience the evolution in quality and style, and see the new directions winemakers are taking.”
