New labels for Smith Haut Lafitte 2015

Pessac-Léognan estate, Smith Haut Lafitte has unveiled limited edition labels for the 2015 vintage to celebrate its 650^th anniversary.

Both the château’s 2015 white and red grand vin will bear a special black label to mark the 25^th anniversary of the ownership of the Cathiard family and the estate’s founding in 1365.

The Bosq family began growing grapes where Smith Haut Lafitte now stands in the mid-fourteenth century.

Its purchase by Scotsman George Smith in the 18^th century gave the estate its modern name and after changing hands a couple of times in the 19^th and 20^th centuries it was finally bought by its current owners, Daniel and Florence Cathiard in 1990.

The classic packaging will return for the 2016s.
