Negociants UK to showcase Chaffey Bros
Negociants UK has expanded its premium Australian portfolio with the addition of Chaffey Bros Wine Co, which will be exclusively showcased for the first time at the upcoming London Wine Fair.
Chaffey Bros was co-founded by the Barossa-born and bred Daniel Chaffey Hartwig and Theo Engela. Hartwig is the fifth generation of the Chaffey brothers’ descendants to make wine in Australia.
This family winery is known for minimal intervention winemaking and its efforts to show sub-regional diversity the Barossa and Eden Valleys.
Wines on show at the fair will include Not Your Grandma’s Riesling and Not Your Grandma’s Rosé in addition to three distinct Eden Valley Rieslings – Zeitpunkt, Tripelpunkt and Düfte Punkt.
Two reds will complete the collection, the ‘Battle for Barossa’ and ‘La Résistance!’.
Winemaker and co-founder Theo Engela will also be in attendance at the London Wine Fair, she said: “I truly cannot wait to get our wines in the hands and glasses of the UK trade.
“Artisanal Australian wine is continuing to build rapport with increasingly-engaged consumers. This allows us to tell increasingly-detailed stories about vineyards and winemaking philosophies, which is fun for everyone.
“The cliché holds true for us that we really only make what we enjoy drinking. This is the privilege and luxury of small family wineries. We love telling the stories of the Barossa: its heritage, traditions, quirks and the unique vineyards that outlive generations”, he says.
