Natural wine and gourmet burger pop-up to launch
Natural wine bar The Remedy in Fitzrovia has hooked up with French burger specialist Big Fernand on a pop-up natural wine bar and gourmet hamburger “salon”.
Three is the magic number: a trio of Big Fernand sliders and three wines from The Remedy list will be on offer at the pop-up
As reported by Hot Dinners, the Natural Wine and Hamburgé Salon will pop-up for one night only on 21 April at Big Fernand’s base on Percy Street.
The Remedy team will head to Big Fernand for the night to host a pop-up version of their popular natural, organic and biodynamic focused wine bar.
Wines from The Remedy list will be available by the glass for just £5, and will be paired specifically to the different burgers offered by Big Fernand.
Among the wines on offer will be an old vine Garnacha from Aragon matched with the Le Bartholome burger with bacon and Raclette cheese.
Also on pour will be Domaine des Huards Romo Romorantin matched with Le Victor veal burger with caramelised onions and Fourme d’Ambert blue cheese.
Burger hounds can indulge in a flight of three sliders paired with a trio of wines, including an orange wine, for £15. The fun starts at 6pm and goes on until 11. Advance tickets can be bought here.
This isn’t the first time gourmet burgers have been paired with fine wines – in January Lucky Chip opened its first permanent site, Lucky Chip Burgers & Wine in Dalston.
The restaurant boasts over 100 different wines ranging from £29-£150, with a strong focus on the US, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand.
On Thursday nights a “cult” wine from the cellar is served by the glass at cost price, while tasting menus paired with wines by the glass are on offer on Fridays at the restaurant’s 10-seater bar.
