London resto launches Roald Dahl cocktails
Rocket restaurant in London’s Bishopsgate has launched a quartet of cocktails inspired by characters in Roald Dahl’s popular children’s books.
Capitalising on growing trend for liquid story telling, the four cocktails, which go on sale at Rocket next month, are each inspired by a different Dahl novel.
The health-conscious Crafty Fox, inspired by Dahl’s 1968 novel Fantastic Mr Fox, blends Żubrówka vodka, St Germain elderflower liqueur, carrot, lemon and apple juice.
The Witches Potion meanwhile, based on the 1983 novel The Witches, features Havana Club, Koko Kanu coconut rum, crème de mure liqueur, blackberries and lemon juice.
Fans of George’s Marvelous Medicine can enjoy Rocket’s bright blue interpretation made with Whitley Neill gin, Blue Curacao, Archers, lemon juice and gomme syrup.
Finally, sweet-toothed cocktails lovers can get their lips around the The Chocolate Factory, a decadent blend of Chivas Regal, El Dorado, Mozart chocolate liqueur and chocolate ice cream.
The initiative hails form a collaboration with Broadgate Circle in support of its “Literary Greats” spring campaign. The four cocktails are priced at £7 each.
