California in spotlight at Meiburg’s Vinexpo events
Debra Meiburg and a team of the wine world’s leading ladies, including Sarah Jane Evans MW and Karen MacNeil will host two Californian wine events during Vinexpo in Hong Kong.

Scheduled for Wednesday, 25 May during Vinexpo, Meiburg’s first event alongside the Chairman of the Institute of Masters of Wine, Sarah Jane Evans MW and The Wine Bible‘s Karen MacNeil, is a breakfast symposium and wine tasting focused on introducing a large range of premium Californian wines to Hong Kong’s wine trade and media.
The event will be created in a “Hollywood-style” complete with a red carpet and wines will be supplied from the California Wine Institute.
Meiburg described it as “a fun and lively discussion and debate between the three ladies and I on what California and its wine mean to us personally.”
Then in the evening, Meiburg, Evans and MacNeil will reflect on their experiences in working in the wine industry via another networking and tasting event held in conjunction with The Women’s Foundation in Hong Kong.
Meiburg said: “We are thrilled to be working with the California Wine Institute and Visit California on these two blockbuster events, in which we have handpicked the leading voices in international wine – among its most famous female figures – to share some of California’s most special and rare wines with Hong Kong.
“We’ve also partnered with The Women’s Foundation to introduce these inspirational global wine personalities to Hong Kong’s equally impressive female executives and members, along with a delegation of visiting CEOs from California.
Some exceptional wines will be tasted, but the focus is on bringing this impressive cache of knowledge and experience together in a super-charged networking event.”
The breakfast symposium starts at 8am in the Bauhinia Room at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre and the ‘Leading Women in Wine Event’ with The Women’s Foundation is at 6pm at Ernst & Young, 22/F, CITIC Tower, 1 Tim Mei Avenue in Admiralty. RSVP to both events is essential.
