Breaking Bad trailer bar to become permanent
A pop-up cocktail lab in an RV trailer inspired by hit TV show Breaking Bad is to become a permanent fixture in London.
ABQ, named after the show’s setting of Albuquerque in New Mexico, launched last July in Shoreditch offering guests the chance to “cook” their own cocktails.
Visitors were asked to don yellow meth-making suits in a hat tip to Breaking Bad’s protagonist Walter White, and crack on with cooking cocktails from a manual.
The bar’s founder, Sebastian Lyall, told the Evening Standard that the RV will become a permanent fixture on the London bar circuit. He is currently seeking investment to make the plan a reality.
“Londoners demand an experience when they go out and the idea behind ABQ was to give them an experience, and Breaking Bad is the icing on the cake,” Lyall told ES.
The permanent bar will serve a new cocktail – the Fly – a molecular twist on a Bramble made with apple-infused gin and cranberry caviar in place of grenadine.
Prior to finding a permanent parking space, the RV will pop up in Paris in May.
