Bordeaux 2015: Doisy, Sigalas and Guiraud
More Sauternes estates have followed Coutet’s example and released their prices this week generally below or equal to those of 2014.
Coutet released earlier this week as the 2015 en primeur campaign rolled into action.
Although it added a 10% increase in price for its 2015 effort, fellow sweet winemakers have not followed suit.
Subsequent releases from the Sigalas-Rabaud, Guiraud and Doisy-Daëne have been equal to or slightly below their 2014 release prices, while Doisy-Vedrines is a touch above.
Sigalas-Rabaud released at €27.6 per bottle ex-négociant, down from €28 p/b for the 2014, Guiraud stuck at €30 p/b and Doisy-Daëne likewise didn’t budge from the €26.4 p/b it asked for in 2014.
Doisy-Vedrines inched up from €22 p/b in 2014 to €23.5 p/b and Doisy-Daëne’s ‘L’Extravagant’ saw the biggest price hike of the Sauternes so far, up 9% from €252 p/b to €276.
