Corona beer recalled over safety fears
Bottles of Mexican beer brand Corona Extra have been pulled from shelves after concerns that glass particles may have made their way into some batches.

This recall comes after inspectors at two Corona-producing breweries raised concerns that glass could be making its way into the beer production process.
It affects 12-packs and 18-packs of 12-ounce clear bottles of Corona Extra on-sale in the US and Guam with a certain production code on the bottle.
“The safety and well-being of consumers is our top priority and we take matters pertaining to the quality of our products very seriously,” said Paul Hetterich, president of brand owner Constellation Brands’ beer division.
Constellation, which has a production agreement with global brewing giant AB InBev, said the recall affected less than one-tenth of 1% of Corona Extra 12-ounce clear glass bottles.
“Since learning of this issue, we immediately began working with AB InBev and jointly took prompt action to investigate the issue. We’re actively working with our distributor partners and retailers to quickly resolve the matter.
“We’re committed to doing everything possible to complete this recall quickly and ensure the safety of our consumers and integrity of our products,” Hetterich said.
