NZ readies for record presence at Prowein
New Zealand Winegrowers is set for its largest ever presence at this year’s Prowein on the back of record export figures.
The country’s export figures jumped 14% to NZ$1.5 billion between 2014 and 2015 and the trade body is seeking to build on that success with an increased presence at one of the world’s largest trade shows.
The NZ pavilion at this year’s Prowein will host 31 producers, representing 10 main wine regions and with 200 wines available to taste.
A further 55 producers will be exhibiting on their own stands bringing the total number of New Zealand winemakers at the show to 86.
“I’m looking forward to attending Prowein for the first time this year,” said Philip Gregan, CEO of New Zealand Winegrowers.
“It’s a great opportunity for producers to explore new export opportunities and capitalise on the increased demand. It will be wonderful to see such strong representation from New Zealand.”
New Zealand Winegrowers will also be holding a series of seminars to show off the diversity of the country’s wines covering a number of topics such as: oaked aged Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, sparkling wines and whites “beyond Sauvignon Blanc”.
Prowein is taking place between 13-15 March in Düsseldorf.
