Grand Hyatt HK appoints new head of F&B
After nearly 20 years with the Hyatt hotel group, Marcus Mathyssek has been promoted to director of food and beverage at the Grand Hyatt in Hong Kong.
Mathyssek began his career with the Hyatt group in 1997 as chef de cuisine at the Hyatt Regency in Cologne before moving to other Hyatt hotels in Perth and Delhi and then joining the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong in 2008.
“My culinary career began in Germany in a humble restaurant, where I was fortunate to learn the foundations of my profession that lead to my leading one of the most talented and successful culinary teams at Grand Hyatt,” he said.
“I feel very honoured to have had the chance to manage and guide such a dedicated, smooth-working team for the last seven and a half years and thank everyone for their tremendous support. I am delighted to have the opportunity to take on this exciting new role and look forward to contributing to the success of Grand Hyatt Hong Kong.”
Before joining the Hyatt group, Mathyssek worked in various Michelin-star restaurants in London and the renowned Victorian Restaurant in Dusseldorf.
