Graham’s and BBR announce Queen’s birthday Port
Graham’s Port and Berry Bros & Rudd have announced a partnership which will see them release a limited edition Port to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II’s 90th birthday.
Full details of the wine will be revealed at an event at the end of March but the bottling includes wine “meticulously selected” from Graham’s historic stocks.
The news marks the second such collaboration between Graham’s and BBR after the release of a single harvest tawny Port to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in 2012.
Paul and Johnny Symington of Symington Family Estates, owner of Graham’s, commented: “Her Majesty’s 90th birthday is an incredible milestone and our family is delighted to be working with Berry Bros. & Rudd on such an interesting project. Port has been used to toast Royal occasions by every conceivable British institution for centuries, so we see this as entirely appropriate.”
“We have selected a very special wine from our cellars as a tribute to a lifetime of extraordinary service.”
BBR’s Port buyer, Simon Field MW added: “The prospect of working with the Symington family is always one that we relish and hence the opportunity presented to us by Charles, Paul and Johnny to collaborate on something rather special to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday was one we could not pass up.”
