Ginsberg+Chan’s top rare Champagne collection

Ginsberg+Chan have hauled in an eclectic and extremely rare treasure trove of aged Champagne ripe for the picking.

From 1979 Piper-Heidsieck to 1990 Krug, Champagne lovers will delight in the following gems from Ginsberg+Chan’s new collection.

All are on special sale until Saturday, 19 March.

Lauren McPhate, Ginsberg+Chan’s communications and marketing manager said,

“We have in some fresh collections of ultra rare Champagne, including a hot new parcel of 1950s-70s vintage Piper Heidsieck, mature Krug and Deutz and single vineyard Selosse.

“These are all for the taking so place orders now.”

1988 Deutz Millesime

“Founded in 1838 in Ay, Deutz has a long and storied history of fine Champagne. A Champagne of elegance and grace more than robustness, the 1980s are drinking perfectly now with tons of nutty appeal.”

Selosse Grand Cru Les Carelles Extra Brut

“Responsible, at least partially, for the renaissance in “grower Champagnes,” Selosse is serious for quality and intrigue.

“Anselme Selosse brings a Burgundian focus of terroir across all of his cuvees resulting in distinct wines of personality.  He achieves this through organic viticulture, low yields, using only natural yeasts for fermentation in barrel, lees stirring, and for certain cuvees, a solera system with up to 19 vintages of reserve wine.

“These are serious wines made in an oxidative style with tons of power.  There simply is no other Champagne like a Selosse.”

Selosse Le Bout Du Clo Grand Cru Extra Brut

“The NV Extra-Brut Grand Cru Le Bout du Clos is all about power, depth and pure structure. The weight and gravitas of Ambonnay comes through beautifully in this intense, layered Champagne.

“Hard candy, wild flowers, mint and spice are some of the many notes that take shape in the glass.

“The current release is a blend of vintages 2004 and 2005, two years that are very much complimentary in nature.”
