Saturday Night Live star Amy Schumer tipped bar staff a massive $1,000 after spending just $77 on drinks during a night at the theatre.

The sharp witted actress and comedian, known for Inside Amy Schumer and 2014 film Trainwreck, made the very generous gesture after watching a production of Hamilton at the Richard Rodgers Theatre in New York on Saturday with friends and boyfriend, Ben Hanisch.
Speaking to the New York Daily News, staff member Madeleine DeJohn said such a large tip was rare, having posted a picture of the bill on Instagram.
“I was very touched, it was just something so generous and so kind that you don’t see every day”, she said.
The sum was split between DeJohn and six other employees that were working that night.
The team thanked Amy with a tweet which read: “From the bartenders @HamiltonMusical thank you @amyschumer for making our night!”
Not one to miss an opportunity for a comeback joke, Schumer later tweeted: “This is really embarrassing but I’ve fallen on hard times and I need that money back”, presumably in reference to the praise received following the gesture.
Amy, now hot property in Hollywood, reportedly worked as a bartender and waitress in New York before breaking into the entertainment industry.
