Pol Roger UK lands Biondi Santi account
Pol Roger UK has signed an exclusive agreement with esteemed Brunello estate Biondi Sandi making the company the sole distributor of its wines in the UK.

Effective from today, Pol Roger UK is now the sole UK agent of the Biondi Santi portfolio and its Castello di Montepo range, having won the account from Vinexus.
“We’d like to thank Nicholas Belfrage MW and his team at Vinexus for the excellent work with our wines, understanding our needs for our precious bottles,” Jacopo Biondi Santi said.
“We’re thrilled about the new collaboration with Pol Roger Portfolio and have great expectations for our future together,” he added.
With a winemaking tradition dating back to the 18th century, sixth generation Jacopo Biondi Santi Is now custodian of the 25-hecatre Il Greppo estate in Montalcino, where he works alongside his son Tancredi Biondi Santi producing Tenuta Greppo.
Adding to the family’s vineyard holdings in the 1990s, Jacopo snapped up Castello de Montepo in Scansano; the former home of novelist Graham Greene, and set about planting 50 hectares of vines with the BBS11 Sangiovese clone.
“We’re delighted to strengthen our range of great family-owned wine producers with the addition of these brilliant wines from the historic Biondi Santi estates,” James Simpson MW, managing director of Pol Roger Portfolio said.
“In addition, Castello di Montepo allows us to showcase the best of the Maremma and to bring these wines to a new audience,” he added.
Biondi Santi joins the likes of Pol Roger Champagne, Burgundy estate Joseph Drouhin, Alsace stalwart Domaine Josmeyer and California’s Abreu in the Pol Roger UK portfolio.
