Natural wine fair RAW to launch in the USA

Natural and artisan wine show RAW is set to launch in New York in November as it targets the US market.

RAW organiser Isabella Legerons MW says the shows are increasingly attracting an international crowd

The show will take place in Brooklyn, NYC on 6 – 7 November 2016, the fourth city for the trade show that promotes natural, organic and biodynamic wines. It first opened in London in 2012 and has since established a biennial trade show in Vienna, and had its first outing in Berlin last November.

Founder and organiser Isabelle Legeron MW told the drinks business the European shows had increasingly attracted an international clientele and grown beyond the original European reach, as well as attracting more natural wine producers from the USA. With producers such as Californian natural wine pioneer Tony Coturri and winemakers from Paso Robles, at RAW London last May, it helped demonstrate that irrigation would not essential, and land could be successfully dry-farmed, she said.

“RAW has become a place for natural wine growers to get access to international importers and markets.”

Legeron is on a mission to increase consumer awareness of the level of sulphites in wine, as well as to boost routes to market for producers of wines that are created using natural farming methods and low-intervention vinification techniques.

The fourth RAW London will take place on May 15-16 at The Old Truman Brewery on Brick Lane.

  1. We look forward to participating in NY. Our first RAW was in London, this past May. We are curious to see how the two venues differ.
