The world-famous burger chain has revealed it is opening a restaurant in Korea that will serve beer along with “premium” burgers.

It will be the McDonald’s restaurant to serve alcohol in Asia, according to English-language Korean news site Chosun Ilbo.

The restaurant will open in Seongnam next Monday (22 February), with McDonald’s planning to open similar stores in the trendy Seoul districts of Gangnam and Sinchon in the near future.

Korea already has 20 “premium” outlets in Korea, which allow customers to create their own burgers using a list of ingredients. Alcohol could be introduced to this if the initial launch proves successful.

McDonald’s restaurant serves alcohol in several markets including Spain, France and Germany.

McDonald’s UK, whose restaurants do not currently serve alcohol, has been contacted for comment.

Hello, I am a student doing a persuasive piece about alcohol should be sold at fast food outlets and just seeking a little bit of information. I’m just wondering by selling alcohol at fast food outlets come along with law enforcement? like laws that help support the selling of alcohol? Would be great if you could get back to me ASAP thanks you.
