Chef David Thompson of Bangkok’s Nahm Restaurant has scooped the 2016 Diners Club Lifetime Achievement Award.

Australia-born Thompson will receive his award at the fourth annual Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants awards ceremony on 29 February, hosted at the W Hotel in Bangkok.
Thompson’s Nahm restaurant in Bangkok currently ranks at number 22 in the World’s Best Restaurant List but claimed the number one spot in Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants list in 2014.
William Drew, group editor of Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants, said: “Throughout his distinguished career, David Thompson has inspired many with his commitment to authenticity and deep respect for Thailand’s culinary traditions.
“His efforts to enrich Asia’s culinary scene, revive time-honoured recipes and mentor young chefs make him a worthy winner of the prestigious Diners Club Lifetime Achievement Award.”
