David Trone, the founder of Total Wine & More, is hoping to secure the Democratic nomination to succeed Maryland 8th District incumbent representative Chris Van Hollen, who will be running for the Senate.
In an interview with the Washington Post, Trone said that he has the business experience to bring “practical solutions” to Congress.
He also committed to spending “whatever it takes” to win the nomination and the constituency.
Total Wine & More was set-up by Trone and his brother Robert in 1991, and it has since expanded to around 130 stores in 18 states.
