Man caught smuggling booze in underwear
A man has been arrested in Saudi Arabia after he was caught with 14 bottles of booze taped to his underwear and legs.
Saudi customs stopped the man after becoming suspicious of his unusual load as he tried to reenter Saudi Arabia from Bahrain.
After confiscating the alcohol, Saudi customs took pictures of the man and tweeted them on its official account, showing the man with an impressive amount of booze strapped around his legs and waist, obscured beneath his robe.
Alcohol is forbidden in the deeply conservative kingdom with punishment severe. British pensioner, Karl Andree, 74, recently spent one year in prison after he was found with bottles of home brewed alcohol in the boot of his car. After serving his time Andree was released, escaping a further punishment of 360 lashes after his family appealed saying he would not survive the beating.
