Gin Guild appoints two new directors
The Gin Guild has appointed two new directors to its board.
Dr Anne Brock of boutique distillery Bermondsey Distillery and Jim Long, Britvic’s international corporate affairs manager, have been involved in the work of the Guild since it was founded in 2012, Gin Guild director general Nicholas Cook said as he welcomed them to the board.
Both would each represent a different side to the gin industry, he added, with Brock’s position as a master distiller in a boutique distillery ensuring that craft distilling was represented on the board.
“She is well respected by the broader gin community and brings her PhD science background to the mix – her technical contributions to seminars, including The Gin Guild’s one-day annual gin industry Ginposium event, have proved particularly popular,” he said.
Jim Long, who worked for Chivas Brothers before joining Britvic, was a member of the Management Committee responsible for setting up the Guild, Cook said. “Jim brings his experience of major and historic distillers to the board alongside his PR skills.”
“He is very familiar with how we operate and the objectives that we seek to deliver for our members.”
The Gin Guild, which is a subsidiary of The Worshipful Company of Distillers, was set up and is funded by members of the gin industry and supported by four major distilling companies, Bacardi, Diageo, William Grant & Sons and Chivas Brothers.
