F&N interested in Peroni
Singapore-based brewer Fraser & Neave has expressed an interest in SABMiller’s Peroni and Grolsch brands.
F&N said in a statement: “The company constantly evaluates and looks out for strategic opportunities to grow its business, and in this respect, it has expressed an interest to acquire the Peroni and Grolsch beer brands.”
It reportedly put in a bid “without conditions” late on Monday 25 January and added there was “no certainty of any transaction materialising”.
Both brands are expected to be worth up to €3 billion and they are part of a sell-off of SABMiller brands in the wake of its takeover by AB InBev.
Several companies and individuals have already been linked to bids. Suntory was briefly before ruling itself out, while former Diageo boss, Paul Walsh has also been put in the frame.
