Farr acquires Jackson Fine Wines
Farr Vintners has acquired Jackson Fine Wines in its entirety following the retirement of founder and CEO Kit Jackson.
The acquisition was announced in early December last year and includes not only the business itself but the management of its customer portfolios as well.
Farr reported that the purchase, along with that of Magnum Fine Wines in August 2014, takes the total value of customer reserves now controlled by Farr to around £300 million.
All wines are stored at Octavian’s vaults in Wiltshire, Magnum and Jackson’s customer reserves having long been kept there.
Farr’s director, Tom Hudson, commented: ‘We have had an excellent business relationship with Jackson Fine Wines for many years and there is an obvious ‘fit’ with the wines held for ex-Jackson customers and our own trading activities.
“We are honoured that Kit Jackson has chosen to entrust Farr Vintners to look after the best interests of his customers going forward.”
