Earl Grey ‘breakfast’ gin launched
An American distiller has launched a “breakfast” gin made with Earl Grey tea designed to be drunk either during breakfast or at brunch.
Produced by Few Spirits, Few Breakfast Gin features an Earl Grey tea infusion as one of the botanicals alongside juniper, coriander and citrus.
Launched in the US last year, the morning drop made by distiller Steven Kaplan is now on sale in the UK via Maverick Drinks.
According to Maverick Drinks, the “elegant and refreshing bergamot-forward” expression boasts notes of “lemon balm, rice paper and inviting aromas of brewing Earl Grey” with “a touch of peppermint and violet on the mid-palate”.
The finish meanwhile, offers a “lingering sweetness with a burst of cinnamon”. The 42% abv gin is priced at £45.95 and is recommended for use in classic cocktail the French 75, made with gin, Champagne, lemon juice and sugar.
Few Spirits also produces a barrel-aged gin, Bourbon, rye and American gin.
