Searcys unveils ‘hybrid’ Christmas cocktail

Searcys Restaurant and Champagne Bar in London has launched an unashamedly indulgent cocktail for the festive season – a dessert-apéritif which it describes as its first “hybrid Christmas drink”.

Searcys’ indulgent Cocoflake cocktail is a blend of Godiva chocolate-infused Bourbon, chocolate liqueur, Italian espresso and cream.

The decadent Cocoflake Christmas cocktail comprises Godiva chocolate-infused Bourbon, chocolate liqueur, Italian espresso and a dash of cream.

The £8 cocktail is served with a sprinkling of snow around its rim in the form of white chocolate shavings, intended to look like freshly fallen snowflakes.

Last year the Champagne garnered attention with the launch of a £60 a glass of mulled wine, which it claimed was the most expensive in the UK.

Its Cinnamoney Spiced Wine was made to order and was developed by the bar’s senior mixologists and food and drink writer, Matthew Fort. Along with traditional mulling spices such as cloves, bay leaves and cinnamon sticks, the mulled wine also contained Lanson Pére et Fils Champagne, Muscat De Beaumes de Venise dessert wine and Blanche de Normandie Calvados, with a bottle of Chateau des Gravieres wine, produced in the Graves appellation of Bordeaux, serving as its base.

Commenting on his latest creation, Fort said: “What is Christmas about if it isn’t pleasure, fun and indulgence? The Cocoflake is a splendid invention for just this time of year, whether you need it to brace yourself before Christmas shopping, keeping you going while you’re shopping or as a reward afterwards.”

The Cocoflake is available exclusively at Searcys Restaurant & Champagne Bar at St Pancras International in London.
