The chat show host’s wine was launched just six weeks ago across the UK and Ireland.

Graham Norton’s Own Sauvignon Blanc 2015, made with the help of New Zealand’s Invivo Wines, reached 4,000 pre-orders a day in New Zealand.

Tim Lightbourne, Invivo’s co-founder, said: “It’s fantastic to see the sales results and accolades for Graham’s wine.”

“It’s not just another celebrity launch,” said Mr Lightbourne, “we love that Graham wanted to get personally involved to this degree. And he’s come up with a bloody good drop.”

The wine was blended by Norton himself, with assistance from Invivo over a day in London. Invivo flew in samples from six different vineyards across the Marlborough region for the blending.

“Sales on the initial orders have flown out the door,” said Musgrave buyer Kevin O’Callaghan. “We’ve had to already order more for 2016. I’m not only happy to have Graham’s wine, I’m proud of it.

“Consumers are buying it for the man, but they returning for the quality.”

Graham Norton’s Own Sauvignon Blanc 2015 is available in Majestic outlets across the UK with a multi-buy price of £9, and Musgrave stores in Ireland. Graham Norton is donating proceeds from sales to Dogs Trust.
