(L-R) Sebastian Beaumont, Miles Mossop and Carl van der Merwe
Established in 1982, the Cape Winemakers Guild comprises the country’s most respected winemakers with the aim of elevating the standing of the South African wine industry through their on-going commitment to “transformation and the production of world-class, quality wines.”
Membership is by invitation only and is only extended to winemakers who have been responsible for the production of outstanding wines for a minimum of five years, and who continue to do so.
Two winemakers, Sebastian Beaumont of Beaumont Family Wines and Carl van der Merwe of DeMorgenzon, have this year joined the organisation, taking its membership to 48 2016. Mossop will take over from Andries Burger, having served as vice chairman during 2015.
