Bordeaux invites wannabe winemakers to learn the trade
Wine enthusiasts are being given the chance to visit Bordeaux to learn the tricks of the trade from some of the region’s top winemakers.
Winners of the ‘Experience Life as a Bordeaux Winemaker’ competition will have the chance to visit Bordeaux during spring and autumn 2016
The Bordeaux Wine Council (CIVB) is offering wine lovers in the UK “a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity” to experience the life of a winemaker through a new social media campaign.
Six Bordelais winemakers have effectively put themselves up for auction via a social media competition entitled Experience Life as a Bordeaux Winemaker.
To take part, wannabe winemakers should visit www.bordeaux.com/uk/experience-life-as-bordeaux-winemaker, where they can view the profiles of the six winemakers and decide who they would like to learn from. They are then required to complete a short questionnaire about their interests, detailing why they should be selected and what they would like to learn from the winemakers.
Entrants can then share their submission on social media platforms and call for support and votes from their friends and followers.
The deadline for submissions to the Experience Life as a Bordeaux Winemaker competition is 1 February 2016.
Four winners will be selected based on number of votes and two others by a CIVB jury based on their entries. Three winners will visit their chosen winemaker in Bordeaux during spring 2016 to experience all the important winemaking activities taking place early in the year. The other three will have the chance to visit during harvest time.
Full details of the competition can be found here.
