Zind-Humbrecht signs up with Gonzalez Byass UK

Alsace winery Domaine Zind-Humbrecht is aiming to drive its UK sales with the appointment of Gonzalez Byass as its exclusive UK distributor.

Established in 1959 through the amalgamation of the Humbrecht and Zind family vineyards, Domaine Zind-Humbrecht is one of the most highly respected producers in Alsace.

It has 40 hectares of vines spread across a range of grand cru and single-vineyard sites.

One of the very few winemakers to have achieved the Master of Wine qualification, owner and winemaker Olivier Humbrecht MW has established biodynamic practices in all Zind-Humbrecht vineyards and follows a non-interventionist philosophy in the winery.

“The UK has been one of our largest markets for 30 years,” Humbrecht said.

“Whilst Alsace wines have long been appreciated by enthusiasts there is still a job to do to introduce them to the general public. In Gonzalez Byass UK we have found a dedicated team that we are confident can take our wines to the next level as far as distribution and awareness is concerned.

“Being family-owned and with a manageable portfolio of great estates, we believe Gonzalez Byass is a good fit for us, and trust the team to be our ambassadors in the UK.”
