Nomad Dining to open new ‘picnic’ concept
Hong Kong Michelin-starred chef Philippe Orrico is set to launch his third restaurant, Picnic on Forbes in Kennedy Town next month.

Touted as a “casual weekend” concept and inspired by the humble outdoor dining experience, Picnic on Forbes will serve picnic baskets, roasted French chicken and traditional fruit tarts all paired with an extensive wine list chosen by sommelier Nicolas Deneux.
Giancarlo Mancino, the man behind Hong Kong’s beloved Mancino Vermouth will also create the “signature” Highball cocktail.
Orrico explained that the driving force behind the idea was to encourage diners to eat and drink in a more informal fashion at home, rather than in fine dining venues such as his other ventures – the newly awarded one-Michelin starred, ON Dining and Upper Modern Bistro.
“Since moving to Hong Kong, I have wanted to work on something that pays homage to the French Café,” he said. “Picnic on Forbes will be a place for friends and family with a desire to meet for a good, simple and casual meal in a very cool and relaxing atmosphere.”
