Jessen joins HK Burgundy specialist
Michael Jessen, formerly of Wally’s Auctions, has joined Hong Kong-based Burgundy specialist, Pearl of Burgundy.
Jessen left the US auctioneer this August and will now serve as the global representative for Pearl of Burgundy particularly in the Americas. He will work with existing and new clients of the company both private and trade.
He said of his new job: “I am very excited to join Pearl of Burgundy. I share their passion for fine wine and have tremendous admiration for the business they have built.”
“On both a personal and professional level it is a dream come true to now be a part of the team. I look forward to introducing the Pearl of Burgundy portfolio to new clientele and to helping the best wine makers in the world expand their reach around the globe.”
Pearl of Burgundy is a Hong Kong-based fine wine importer and distributor whose portfolio includes Domaine Hudelot-Noellat, Domaine Cathiard, Fourrier, Roulot and more as well as wines from Champagne, Germany, Italy and Spain.
Jessen was previously managing director of Zachys Wine Auctions until 2013 when he jumped shipped and joined Wally’s as president and CEO to set up its nascent auction business arm along with Julia Gilbert, who was subsequently been promoted to head up the department after Jessen’s departure.
