Sotheby’s sales results ahead of 2014
Sotheby’s sales results so far this autumn are “comfortably” ahead of where they were in 2014 after a HK$53 million sale in Hong Kong.
Following on from a sale in New York recently that made US$4.9m, the two day sale at the Convention and Exhibition Centre made over HK$53m (US$6.8m).
The sale centred on two single-owner sales and three ex-cellar lots from Harland and Bond.
The first single-owner consignment featuring 100 lots of Domaine de la Romané-Conti realised HK$27.1m while the other Burgundy-centric collection sold for HK$9.8m.
One of the leading lots from the sale was a Vega Sicilia “Unico” vertical made up of 25 magnums, which realised HK$318,500, which was also the amount raised by the 21-bottle Harlan Estate vertical.
Other leading lots included 2000, 1983 and 1995 La Tâche, 1988 Richebourg, 1995 and 2002 Romanée-Conti, 1961 Musigny from Leroy, Rousseau’s 1990, 1999 and 2009 Chambertin, Ponsot’s 1990 Clos de la Roche, 1959 Latour, 1990, and 2004, 1999 and 1995 Petrus.
Sotheby’s will be looking to build on its success so far this season with the ex-cellar Margaux sale in New York later this month.
