Lonely Planet publishes first ever wine travel guide
Lonely Planet is targeting wine tourists with the publication of its first travel guide focused on winegrowing regions.

Entitled Wine Trails, the illustrated guide offers readers the chance to “taste their way around the world”, plotting a course through 52 of the world’s wine regions to provide a year’s worth of wine travel options.
The book includes 327 wineries in 20 different countries. As well as the classic winegrowing regions, it also includes guides to some of the world’s lesser known regions, including Lebanon, Morocco and Georgia.
The books has been written by a specialist team of writers, including wine buyers and sommeliers, who have provided reviews of “the most rewarding wineries to visit and the most memorable wines to taste”.
Wine Trails also includes detailed maps and practical details for wine tourists, including how to get to the wineries included and the best places to stay and eat in the regions.
The countries featured in Wine Trails are: Argentina, Australia, Canada, Chile, England, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary and Slovakia, Italy, Lebanon, Morocco, New Zealand, Portugal, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Turkey and the US.
Lonely Planet has printed over 120 million books in nine languages to almost every destination on the planet. Wine Trails marks the first time the company has ever published a dedicated wine guide.
The hardback book carries a recommended retail price of £19.99.
