Adria to celebrate milestone at HK’s Amber
The former head chef of elBulli will create a 12-course dinner in honour of the hotel’s 10 year anniversary which will be served by Amber’s executive chef, Richard Ekkebus.
Held only on 23 and 24 October to the tune of HK$10,888 per person, the event also marks the publication of Ferran Adriá’s seven-volume elBulli 2005-2011 which documents his prolific years as one of the world’s best chefs.
Starting with a Dom Pérignon reception, the dinner will include a 10-glass wine pairing and dishes will be served on Porcelain by Spanish manufacturer Pordamsa.
Adriá will lead a talk on his views of the future of gastronomy and fine dining and he will explain the use of his pioneering culinary techniques.
Each guest will receive a vintage elBulli menu signed by Adriá and a copy of elBulli 2005-2011.
“The Landmark Mandarin Oriental is committed to offering diners a veritable world of memorable dining experiences,” said Ekkebus.
“As we celebrate our 10th anniversary, we are doing this by bringing to Hong Kong the world’s most acclaimed international chefs who are, and have, revolutionised the culinary scene.”
Since Ekkebus has been at the helm, Amber has been awarded two Michelin stars in the Michelin Guide Hong Kong & Macau every year since 2009, and is placed No.38 in the 2015 World’s 50 Best Restaurants, the only Hong Kong establishment listed.
