The Glenturret Distillery in Crieff will attempt the record on Thursday, 5 November, and is currently working to recruit as many people as possible to “raise a dram” at the same time to set a new world record. The distillery hopes it will be able to attract at least 240 people to take part in the attempt to mark the distillery reaching its 240th year in operation. Each record breaker will be given a dram of Glenturret single malt to mark the occasion.

An open weekend will also take place over 7 and 8 November, when visitors to the distillery will be granted access-all-areas with free tours of the distillery, the chance to sample a number of drams and learn about the traditional methods used to produce whisky on site.

The distillery’s While Thyme restaurant and café will be laying on a whisky-inspired menu, including Glenturret-flavoured ice cream.

Members of the public can register their interest in taking part in the #raiseadram world record attempt at www.theglenturret.com.
