Crowned International Young Sommelier of the year in 2010 and UK Sommelier of the Year in 2013, Robert qualified as a Master Sommelier in 2015.
Most recently the head sommelier of Medlar restaurant in Chelsea, Robert has also worked for the Hotel du Vin group and under Eric Zwiebel at Summer Lodge Hotel in Dorset.
“I’m thrilled to have been appointed head sommelier and wine buyer at 28°-50°.
“I’m confident that I can help further strengthen the restaurants’ excellent reputation of high quality and great value wine lists within the London dining scene,” he said.
Operations director Sid Clark added: “We’re delighted to welcome Clement. His past experience and passion for wine will make him an invaluable member of our team.”
“Clement will be playing a key role in developing our profile going forward as 28°-50° is not only about extraordinary wines and food, but extraordinary people too,” said director and co-founder of the group Agnar Sverrisson.
The first 28°-50° Wine Workshop & Kitchen opened off Fleet Street in 2010, with a Marylebone site following in 2012 and a third launched in Mayfair in 2013.
Xavier Rousset MS left the group in May to pursue other projects.
