The Ardmore releases Port wood finish whisky
The Ardmore has released a single malt whisky matured for 12 years in American white oak Bourbon barrels and finished in European half Port pipes.
The Ardmore Port Wood Finish, “aimed at whisky aficionados”, is the latest release from The Ardmore, which is owned by Beam Suntory, following a redesign of the brand in 2014.
“The repositioning of The Ardmore has given us a great platform to build on across our key International markets”, said Gareth Brown, senior director of Scotch, Irish and Japanese Whisky at Beam Suntory. “The success of The Ardmore Legacy, and our recently launched Travel Retail expressions, has established our status in the peated single malt category and The Ardmore Port Wood Finish will further showcase the quality and approachable taste of our whisky. ”
The brand has seen growth of 38% in the 12 months with Germany and the UK singled out as its key market having seen sales increase by 185% and 166% respectively in the past year.
The 46% ABV whisky joins the three-strong The Ardmore portfolio, which includes The Ardmore Legacy – the entry level of the Beam Suntory “Peated Malts of Distinction” portfolio – and two travel retail releases; The Ardmore Tradition and The Ardmore Triple Wood.
The Ardmore Port Wood Finish is available now with an RRP of 55€/£49.99
