Peter Fraser to host Grenache masterclass
Australia’s 2016 winemaker of the year, Peter Fraser of the Yangarra Estate Vineyard in McLaren Vale, will host a one-off Grenache masterclass for the trade in London in October.
Recently named Australia’s 2016 Winemaker of the Year by eminent wine critic James Halliday, Fraser has worked at the Jackson Family Wines-owned estate since 2001.
All of its wines are grown from a a single 400-acre wine farm in northern McLaren Vale. Since 2010, Fraser has worked to implement organic and biodynamic practices across Yangarra’s estate vineyard, and since the 2013 vintage all of Yangarra’s wines are certified organic and biodynamic in Australia.
Fraser will be in central London on 12 October to host a one-off masterclass featuring a comparative tasting of Grenache featuring some of the world’s best expressions of the variety, from Priorat to Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
The masterclass will be chaired by Patrick Schmitt MW, editor-in-chief at the drinks business, and is free to attend, however places are very limited.
