Leeuwin releases new Art Series Chardonnay
Leeuwin Estate will release its 2012 Art Series Chardonnay and 2010 Prelude Vineyards Cabernet Merlot at the Wine Australia tasting in London this month.
The new wines will be available to taste along with other current wines in the Art Series at the “Premium Australia” trade tasting in Australia House on 29 September.
Paul Atwood, Leeuwin’s Senior winemaker, said “For the Siblings wines we use both Estate fruit and fruit from a couple of contracted growers that we have worked with for the last 10-15 years. Our viticulturist David Winstanley ensures these vines are grown under the same close supervision and specification of fruit quality as for our estate-grown fruit.
“The fruit selected is generally more approachable when younger. Therefore in tastings and classification we are looking for more lateral mouth-feel and softness that is very approachable when young. For the Art Series wines from these varieties we look for more length and ability to age.”
