HDH launches new ‘bidding app’
Chicago-based auction house, Hart Davis Hart, has announced that since March of this year bidders have been using a new mobile app that has “dramatically” increased its business.
The platform is a more streamlined and “user-friendly” way of bidding remotely either prior to or during the auction.
The new bidding technology – available as an app and online – was rolled out this spring in what was evidently something of a trial period and one which the house has evidently judged to be a success.
Since its launch HDH has reported that “hundreds” of its clients have downloaded it and used it online.
Users can search the catalogue by producer, lot number, vintage, price estimates or category and then place bids before the auction or track and bid live.
If your prior bid is surpassed, the system will also alert the user to allow them to amend their bid if desired.
HDH said: Mobile bidding allows for ultimate flexibility—participants in the auction are no longer tied to the phone or computer; they can bid on the go with the swipe to bid function.
“As we begin our fall season, Hart Davis Hart Wine is not only the number one wine auction house in the U.S., but also the leader for auction technology, with a bidding platform that is more sophisticated than anything our competitors are currently offering. We are thrilled to be able to provide this fantastic new technology to our clients as a part of our commitment to superior service.”
