Drinks heavyweights to open Soho nightspot
Three leading figures in London’s restaurant and bar scene have joined forces to open a new wine and cocktail bar in Soho this September.
Called 68 and Boston, the Greek Street bar is the brainchild of Eric Yu of The Breakfast Group, Planet of the Grapes owner Martin Malley and Luca Cordiglieri, the former bar manager at China Tang at The Dorchester.
Cordiglieri is president of the UK Bartenders’ Guild, while Yu also runs clandestine cocktail den Opium in Soho and The Social in Fitzrovia.
The space is split in two, with an all-day wine bar on the ground floor and a late night lounge bar upstairs.
A chunk of the wines at the bar will cost just £20 a bottle, while cocktails start at £10 and bar snacks will be provided by a restaurant down the road.
“We want to encourage people to choose their wines adventurously and try regions and varieties that are unfamiliar to them, so 68 will stretch their horizons that bit further,” Yu said.
