De Boüard stars in tin capsule ad

The owner of Bordeaux’s Château Angelus, Hubert de Boüard, has lent his support to a campaign by capsule brand Pure Tin as it looks to expand across France and the US.

A trilogy of short films has been produced by the company, which makes tin capsules for wine bottles. The first of these stars de Boüard, one of the brand’s most high profile clients, who draws a parallel between his wine’s “silky, round, elegant, refined side” and the qualities of Pure Tin.

“I am completely convinced that only tin capsules can provide the subtlety we are looking for,” comments de Boüard to the camera. “The tin capsule has a very special feel, almost like silk, which is important. When you go into a barrel cellar, you touch the barrels. Likewise when you touch the capsule it has a strong influence on the way you perceive the quality of the wine.”

He concludes: “I think that Pure Tin capsules can be compared to the wines of Angelus. I’d say that they are from the same sort of world and reflect the same elegance.”

The next film in the pipeline will Argentine star sommelier Paz Levinson, who is described by Paloma Castro of Pure Tin as representing “a new generation of sommeliers, bringing a fresh dynamism and energy into the industry.”
