Bordeaux wine museum rebrands
The decision has been taken to rename Bordeaux’s new wine museum with a somewhat snappier title.

Scheduled to open in the spring of next year, the Cité des Civilisations du Vin will henceforth been known simply as, Cité du Vin.
The change was announced by Bordeaux’s mayor, Alain Juppé, at the Bordeaux Fête le Vin in Quebec this week.
The museum’s marketing director, Oliver Kollek, admitted to Decanter that the original name was “too long and too difficult to pronounce”.
The museum is expected to see 350,000 to 500,000 visitors a year when it opens in March 2016.
Its “mission” to promote wine culture in both France and throughout the world and explore the role of wine in previous civilisations, remains unchanged.
