1800 Tequila unveils Keith Haring range
1800 Tequila has launched six limited edition bottles adorned with select artwork produced by the late artist Keith Haring.
The limited edition run forms the brand’s seventh Essential 1800 Artist range, an annual collaboration with select artists.
Keith Haring was known for his unique, bold style, first gaining recognition for creating public art in the streets and subway stations of New York City. His artwork was often used to raise awareness about numerous socio-political issues, including literacy campaigns and AIDS awareness initiatives.
His work went onto be exhibited numerous museums and galleries worldwide. He died in 1990 of AIDS-related complications.
“We are excited to bring Keith’s work into people’s homes via this singular opportunity,” said Julia Gruen, executive director of The Keith Haring Foundation. “Keith always intended that his art be easily accessible and many of the themes addressed in his work remain truly ground-breaking.”
The 1800 Silver Tequila is made from 100% blue agave and blended from a selection of double-distilled white Tequilas to add complexity and character.
The Essential 1800 Artist series has in the past has featured works from artists, including Jean-Michel Basquiat, Gary Baseman, Studio One and Shepard Fairey.
