WOSA gets social ahead of Cape Wine
Wines of South Africa is warming up its welcome ahead of next month’s Cape Wine 2015 with the launch of a social media campaign.
#CapeWineConnect features a collection of short video interviews with some of South Africa’s top winemakers, viticulturalists and other wine personalities. The light-hearted tone covers topics ranging from winemakers’ “light bulb moments” to social projects, farming methods, wine opinion pieces and winery dogs.
The campaign comes as WOSA urges its members to step up their own social media activity in the run up to the triennial fair, using the #CapeWineConnect tag to highlight their own stories and successes.
Siobhan Thompson, CEO of WOSA, launched the initiative saying: “Our show is a multi-media look at the South African wine industry and the #CapeWineConnect campaign allows visitors to start learning more about our wines before they step onto a plane.”
Looking ahead to the three-day fair, which will enable visitors “to make sense of the progress South Africa has made over the past two decades,” Thompson commented: “We are now an accomplished performer with an authentically original voice, keen to protect our vinous heritage but equally excited to explore new wine-growing areas, new varietals and new styles.”
Taking place from 15-17 September at the Cape Town International Convention Centre, Cape Wine 2015 has already attracted “unprecedented” support from the South Africa wine industry, according to WOSA, with 95% of exhibition space sold six months ahead of the show.
