WIN: a ‘virtually indestructible’ wine suitcase
db is offering its readers the chance to win a “virtually indestructible” suitcase that helps wine lovers bring their beloved bottles home from their travels.
Costing £229, the VinGardeValise is a rolling hard shell suitcase lined with high-density, temperature-regulating foam that protects bottles while in transit. It weighs around 20kg when packed with a dozen 75cl bottles, making it under the limit for a checked bag with airlines like Air France, British Airways, KLM and Alitalia.
The foam cavities are designed to hold an array of different bottle shapes from Bordeaux and Burgundy, to Champagne and Riesling bottles, with special foam inserts for magnums also available. If you only want to take a couple of bottles home, the remaining foam can be removed from the 45 x 30 x 66cm case to make room for other travel essentials.
Created by wine accessory designer Barry Wax, the VinGardeValise took three years to develop, with a UK website for the product due to go live in the next month.
For your chance to win the VinGardeValise, tell us in 500 words or less how you would put the suitcase to good use. Which countries would you travel to and which wines would you fill it with? The most creative, interesting and deserving entry will win the case, which must be shipped to a UK address.
Please email lucy.shaw@thedrinksbusiness.com with your entry by Friday, 4 September.
The suitcase, ready to be shipped out to one db reader.
I love new zealand marlborough sauvignon balance therefore i would love to use this on a visit to New Zealand and being home some samples.
If Suzanne O’Neill wins I’m calling a fix!
Put some effort in, and upgrade your wine interests from NZ SB, gawd!
😀
(*have at it*)
I am very happy with the wines i buy from The Antipodean Sommelier so an upgrade not required!
I don’t qualify because I live in the US, but I just wanted to say “that case is BRILLIANT!” When they are available here, I may just have to buy one. We currently have an empty, airline approved box that we check with bags when we travel to Oregon. We load it up and check it back through full! It’s not pretty, but it works.
Lynne, Total Wine began carrying that suitcase about a month ago for (I think) $260.). I am definitely getting one before my next trip.
