The drinks business has invited Tirado to host a tasting to explore the individual parcels in its Puente Alto vineyard that make up its Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon.
Over the years, certain differences have have been identified leading to the vineyard being divided into six parcels of Cabernet Sauvignon and one of Cabernet Franc. Each block is managed independently row by row.
This tasting will illustrate the different soil types found within Puente Alto, and their effect on the aromas and tannins in the resulting wine, as well as the creation of the final 2014 blend.
“For me, Don Melchor is an ongoing quest to get the truest possible expression from every plant in the vineyard to attain beauty in the equilibrium from each Puente Alto terroir harvest”, said Tirado.
The Don Melchor 2011 will also be available to taste at the event.
The Don Melchor Seven Parcels Tasting and Cabernet Sauvignon blending masterclass will take place on Thursday, 1 October, at the Westbury Hotel in Mayfair, London, from 5pm until 7pm.
