The week in pictures: Hong Kong

Discovering Georgian wine, a Rosé workshop and Bastille Day fun – it’s been a busy old week for the db HK team.

As the humid weather continues, Hong Kongers fall upon Rosé like it’s going out of fashion. Debra Meiburg MW and Rod Smith MW hosted a “Think Pink: La Vie en Rosé” seminar workshop for the drinks trade to brush up on their knowledge.

Hosted by the French Consul General for the fifth year running, Hong Kong businesses and other VIPs attended a cocktail reception in homage to the storming of the Bastille and enjoyed French themed music and of course, perfect hors d’oeuvres.

Pernod Ricard were also on hand to provide much needed Mumm Champagne for the Bastille Day festivities.

The Boschendal wines on offer included Rosé, a Blanc de Blancs De Long, Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Shiraz.

Debra Meiburg MW hosted a Georgian wine event, giving insight into the little-known wine producing country to Hong Kong’s drinks trade.

Celebrated Portugese winemaker of the Barraid region, Luis Pato was in town to promote his range of wines at Michelin-starred restaurant Yu Lei in Hung Hom.

The calm before the storm that wasn’t. Hong Kong issued a Typhoon Signal No.8 in response to Hurricane Linfa making its perilous way across the Pearl River Estuary. Office workers were sent home in great excitement only for no dramatic storm to arrive and were treated to some light wind and a nice smattering of rain instead.
